Name: Silverbolt
From: Beast Wars
Appearance:
Age: Impossible to tell, but at current, he only seems to have memories of the time since he woke up from stasis.
Gender: Male
Personality:
Silverbolt portrays the very essence of the "gallant knight" stereotype, and every fiber of his being is dedicated to maintaining his place in the universe as a Hero. He sees the world, for the most part, with very strict definitions of right and wrong, and his first response to a challenge of this worldview is often rather aggressive, and sometimes even threatening. While not totally incapable of accepting morally questionable situations, he struggles with them far more than most, even long after the decision has been made, and the deed has been done. This leads him to often defy orders, even under duress or threat of injury—he will do what he thinks is right, even though that may lead to disobeying his leader, or to a radically worse situation than what was already going on.
In normal conversation, this "hero" business comes across very strangely, as his speech takes on just as much of his stereotype as his general thought processes do. When he talks, he uses exceptionally formal language—though not so bad one couldn't understand him—which results in many a facepalm for those around him. He has no real "casual" conversation skills unless he is exceptionally relaxed, and that rarely occurs when he isn't around Black Arachnia—problem being, he falls back into stereotype on purpose just for her. He's certainly capable of normal conversation, but be warned: it might just be a sign of the apocalypse.
Where Black Arachnia is concerned, Silverbolt has nothing for her but love. He will go to any lengths for her spark, no matter the cost—whether to him, or his teammates. She is the world to him, and the one time he ever thought she had perished, he flew into a berserk rage, becoming hellbent on avenging her spark. There was no getting through to him, no reasoning with him, nothing. Once the rage abated, he became despondent and forlorn; for him, his life ended with hers, and until she returned as a Transmetal he was afraid that was exactly what he would have to deal with until the end of his days. However, in speaking to her, he is convinced he's her knight in shining armor—even though she clearly disagrees. He protects her even when she doesn't need him to, he'll swoop in and save the day, he'll take a bullet (or laser beam, or missile…) for her. And when he talks with her, it's like the very world has conspired to make him sound as sappy as Cybertronianly possible. He uses all the cheesy sayings, all the terrible "lovestruck pup" lines, all for the sake of getting his Beloved to smile—even though they often end up getting him glared at instead.
For all this "noble wolf" stuff he has going on, Silverbolt is pretty much a derp whenever something comes up outside of that range, particularly if Black Arachnia is involved. He's intelligent enough, sure (actually he proves himself to be rather smart and quick-minded at times), but he is terrible at divining someone's intentions, and he's also pretty bad at parsing information outside the "black/white" and "good/evil" ranges, even rather simple things. Between the two, he's a fellow who is quite easily surprised, and often doesn't think before he acts. This leaves him looking far stupider than he actually is the vast majority of the time. Sadly, he's the only one who isn't in on the joke.

Backstory:
When Silverbolt's stasis pod first crash-landed on the planet, it was Megatron who found him. While normally the Predacon leader would have reprogrammed Bolt's Maximal proto-form to become a Predacon upon activation, Silverbolt had already activated. The issue was that his memory circuits were damaged, which made it easy for Megatron to fool him into believing he was a Predacon anyway. After some time, Silverbolt realized that he truly was not any kind of Predacon, and that he belonged on the side of good, with the Maximals.
After defecting to the other side, Silverbolt found himself in a fight with Tarantulas, Quickstrike, and Black Arachnia. While he was more than happy to do battle with the first two, he wavered at the thought of fighting the female. His code of honor would not allow him to ever harm a female. This seemed to touch Black Arachnia's spark in some way, because that was the start of their relationship. Admittedly, the relationship involved more of him spouting horrible one-liners and her wanting to or actually, in some cases shooting him. He always expresses a great deal of surprise when she does that. Throughout this, he is very secretive about his involvement with her, to the point that he nearly scraps Rattrap for making an inappropriate comment about the pair--and it seems he really would have, if Optimus and Rhinox hadn't stopped him.
His dedication to her goes very deep, to the point that he nearly betrays his comrades for her sake, intending to save her spark, at least in his eyes. This leads to his biggest mistake, as she is still loyal to Megatron (...well, afraid of him, that is). She leads Megatron to the Ark, the vessel the Autobots originally used to come to Earth, and Silverbolt is left outside as she takes the Predacon leader inside. Megatron does a great deal of damage to Optimus Prime, with the intent of altering the entire outcome of the Great War, and the timeline starts to change right before the Maximals' eyes.

Moral Standing: Good. Too good. He'll make you want to barf.
Dreams: It's Silverbolt's greatest wish to convince Black Arachnia to join the Maximals.
Fears: Losing Black Arachnia would be the worst thing that could ever happen to him, but to a lesser extent losing any of his comrades.
Extra: Whenever Silverbolt says something particularly over the top and noble, a few notes play on a trumpet (a snippet of his theme). This trumpet can only be heard by organics though, and only those with some amount of experience with the Fourth Wall— either via their canon or actual contact with it in the City.
This journal here is Silverbolt's main journal. The alternate journal [personal profile] youshotme will be used for his Beast Mode form, and a few extra robot mode icons as well.
